Information we use

Google sign-in provides your name, email address, profile-picture URL and Google account identifier. Google handles your password and verification codes; FareScout does not ask you to enter them. The sign-in exchange uses an authorization code and authentication tokens. Google access, refresh and identity tokens may be retained in account records. FareScout does not request access to your Gmail, Contacts, Calendar or Drive.

We store your selected cities, display and event-filter preferences, referral information, and subscription identifiers and status. Location coordinates describe your selected cities, not your device's GPS location.

Feedback includes the message you submit, its title and category, your account identifier and available app-version information. Hosting and authentication services also process technical request and error logs needed to operate and secure the app. Please keep passwords, payment details and other sensitive information out of feedback.

How information is used and shared

• Accounts: Google sign-in and our database let you access your account and remember your preferences.
• Billing: On signup, we send your name, email and internal account identifier to Stripe to create a customer and card-free trial. Stripe also handles paid subscriptions, billing management and referral credits. Card details are entered on Stripe-hosted pages; FareScout does not store card numbers or CVCs.
• Hosting and support: Google Cloud hosts the app, database, logs and backups. Feedback is recorded in our hosting logs for the FareScout operator to review.
• Event information: Ticketmaster and SeatGeek supply listings. NOAA provides forecasts, Nominatim can resolve city and venue addresses, and Gemini helps enrich event and venue information. These integrations do not receive your Google profile, payment details or feedback for event enrichment.

Selecting a ticket link opens a separate provider's website, where its policies apply. We have not configured advertising pixels, behavioral-marketing analytics or session-replay trackers in the FareScout application.

FareScout does not use cross-site behavioral tracking. Browser Do Not Track signals do not change essential sign-in, billing or security processing. Google, Stripe and websites opened through external links have their own privacy practices; their pages may use their own cookies.

Cookies and browser storage

• Sign-in and security cookies keep you signed in and protect the authentication process. The configured sign-in session lasts up to 30 days; temporary security cookies have shorter lifetimes.
• A referral cookie can be set for 30 days when you open a referral link, so a subsequent signup can receive its referral benefits.
• A theme preference in local browser storage remembers light or dark mode until you change it or clear browser storage.

You can clear or block browser storage in your browser's settings. Blocking sign-in cookies can prevent login; clearing storage also removes local preferences and referral attribution.

Retention and your requests

Account, subscription and support records are kept to operate the service, resolve billing or support issues and maintain necessary records. FareScout does not yet have a comprehensive automatic account-erasure schedule or self-service account export and deletion controls.

You can request access, correction, an export or deletion through the contact options below. We may need to verify that a request relates to your account. Removing data from the active service does not necessarily remove it immediately from billing records, service-provider records or backups. Backup copies can remain until the backup is retired; a deliberately held database backup remains until manually deleted.

Signing out or disconnecting Google does not itself cancel a paid subscription. Use Manage Billing in Settings to manage your subscription, and contact us separately about account data.
